Penguins place D Maatta on IR
The Pittsburgh Penguins have placed defenseman Olli Maatta on injured reserve with an upper-body injury, the team announced Tuesday.
Maatta left Monday night's game against the Philadelphia Flyers after tumbling into the boards in the first period, hitting his left shoulder hard.
The 24-year-old will be out indefinitely.
Maatta has played in 55 games this year, producing 13 points on 1 goal and 12 assists.
