Auburn OL Ashley to enter transfer portal
Auburn offensive lineman Calvin Ashley, a five-star signee coming out of high school, said Monday he will put his name in the NCAA transfer portal.
While entering the portal doesn't guarantee the 6-foot-6, 322-pound player will transfer, what he wrote in his social media post made it sound as if his mind was made up.
"After much thought and consideration and talking to my family, I have decided to enter my name in the NCAA Transfer Portal and will explore my options," he posted to Twitter. "I would like to thank the great fans and the coaching staff at Auburn for believing in me. To my teammates/brothers, I will indeed miss the moments shared with you all and wish you all the best."
Ashley was a USA Today first-team All-American and an Under Armour All-America selection at St. John's College High School in Washington D.C. He redshirted as a freshman in 2017 and played sparingly last season, appearing in just five games for the Tigers.
