Oh No! They Canceled THIS TV Show!?!

Remember how you felt when they canceled "Friends"? Or "Breaking Bad"? Or even "M*A*S*H" if you're of a certain age?

Does heartbroken describe it? For some of us, it really does.

We get attached to our shows, the characters and the storylines. They have a place in our lives, and when the show ends--either according to plan or seemingly out of the blue--something special dies with it. Yes, we're heartbroken.

But more than any other TV show that has been canceled, it is "Friends" that caused the most widespread heartbreak, according to the Harris Poll, which surveyed 2,170 randomly-selected U.S. adults to find out which canceled television shows caused them the most upset.

Though it lasted 10 seasons, Americans are still distraught that they can no longer share in any new adventures with their "Friends," a sitcom about six pals learning to live and love as twenty-something adults.

Coming in behind "Friends," is "M*A*S*H." And while the original run may have ended more than 30 years ago, the Army buddies of the 4077th Mobile Army Surgical Hospital are still sorely missed.

Meanwhile, "Firefly" is No. 3 on the list of heartbreakers, and it could not be more different than the others. While the 11 seasons of "M*A*S*H" make it the longest running show on this top 10 list, the crew of the Firefly-class ship Serenity lasted only 11 episodes on the air. Joss Whedon eventually released a feature film follow-up titled "Serenity," which tied up many of the series' loose ends--but clearly fans are still feeling less than serene about "Firefly's" departure.

The top 10 TV shows that caused the most heartbreak when they were canceled and the original run dates:
1. "Friends" (1994-2004)
2. "M*A*S*H" (1972-1983)
3. "Firefly" (2002)
4. "Seinfeld" (1989-1998)
5. "Breaking Bad" (2008-2013)
6. "The Sopranos" (1999-2007)
7. "Lost" (2004-2010)
8. "Parenthood" (2010-2015)
9. "Sons of Anarchy" (2008-2014)
10. "How I Met Your Mother" (2005-2014)
