Gaston strengthens into third hurricane of Atlantic season
Aug 25 (Reuters) - Tropical storm Gaston has strengthened into the third hurricane of the Atlantic season, the U.S. National Hurricane Center (NHC) said early Thursday.
Gaston, about 1,215 miles (1,1955 km) west of the Cape Verde Islands, was packing maximum sustained winds of 75 miles per hour (120 km/h), the NHC said.
