This NASA-NOAA GOES West satellite photo taken 1145 UTC September 7, 2016 shows Tropical storm Newton over Mexico. Tropical storm Newton roared into northwestern Mexico early September 7, making landfall a second time after leaving two people dead in Baja California, US forecasters said. Downgraded from a hurricane, the storm was still packing 110 kilometer-an-hour (70 miles-per-hour) winds when it swept into mainland Mexico near Bahia Kino in the state of Sonora, the US National hurricane center said. The storm was expected to dump eight to 15 centimeters (three to six inches) of rain, before passing into the US state of Arizona later in the day, the Florida-based weather center said. / AFP PHOTO / NASA-NOAA GOES Project / HO / RESTRICTED TO EDITORIAL USE - MANDATORY CREDIT "AFP PHOTO / NASA-NOAA GOES PROJECT" - NO MARKETING NO ADVERTISING CAMPAIGNS - DISTRIBUTED AS A SERVICE TO CLIENTS HO/AFP/Getty Images
This NASA-NOAA GOES East satellite photo taken on September 5, 2016 shows Tropical Storm Hermine off the northeastern US coast. Storm warnings were in effect Monday from Long Island to Nantucket as post-Tropical Cyclone Hermine drifted slowly up the Atlantic, promising near hurricane-strength winds, floods and beach erosion. The National Weather Service said large waves will pound the East Coast from the mid-Atlantic states to southern New England through the end of Labor Day. Life-threatening rip currents are expected at least into the middle of the week, it added. / AFP PHOTO / NASA-NOAA GOES Project / HO / RESTRICTED TO EDITORIAL USE - MANDATORY CREDIT "AFP PHOTO / NASA-NOAA GOES PROJECT" - NO MARKETING NO ADVERTISING CAMPAIGNS - DISTRIBUTED AS A SERVICE TO CLIENTS HO/AFP/Getty Images
This September 4, 2016 NASA satellite image shows Tropical Storm Hermine (09L) off the Mid-Atlantic. Post-tropical storm Hermine is again nearing hurricane strength, the US National Weather Service said Sunday, posing a "danger of life-threatening inundation" from New Jersey to Connecticut. As of midday Sunday, Hermine was about 325 miles (520 kilometers) east-southeast of Ocean City, Maryland, in the mid-Atlantic region -- far at sea, but close enough to be pummeling coastal areas with heavy rains, riptides and storm surges of up to five feet (1.5 meters). The storm, now heading north by northeast, is expected to take a northern or northwestern turn. Residents in states as far north as Connecticut are expected to feel its damaging impact. / AFP PHOTO / NASA / HO / RESTRICTED TO EDITORIAL USE - MANDATORY CREDIT "AFP PHOTO /NASA" - NO MARKETING - NO ADVERTISING CAMPAIGNS - DISTRIBUTED AS A SERVICE TO CLIENTS HO/AFP/Getty Images
