TO GO WITH AFP STORY BY JORDANE BERTRAND A picture taken on June 16, 2016 shows a board (L) with the names of Tirailleurs senegalais (Senegalese Tirailleurs) who died at the Courneau military camp in Teste-de-Buch. The Senegalese Tirailleurs were a corps of colonial infantry in the French Army recruited from Senegal. In April 1916, French military authorities had set a camp in Teste-de-Buch to acclimate colonial troops to European weather. Nearly 70.000 tirailleurs between April 1916 and September 1917 will pass through the 400 huts of the camp. / AFP PHOTO / GEORGES GOBETGEORGES GOBET/AFP/Getty Images
