Justine Bateman tweets outrage over Family Ties stage play news

Actress Justine Bateman isn't keen to see the return of '80s sitcom Family Ties as a stage play.

The actress and sister of Horrible Bosses star Jason Bateman, appeared as Mallory Keaton on the hit ’80s sitcom alongside Michael J. Fox who played her brother Alex.

Justine ran a production and consulting company, SECTION 5 before heading to the University of California, Los Angeles to study for a degree in computer science in 2012.

However, the 50-year-old who will graduate in June (17), was less than enthusiastic to hear the news a stage play of the show has been announced.

Justine made her feelings clear, tweeting: “Ew, ew, ew, ew,” after Variety reported the beloved TV show will become a play backed by a producer of Wicked. Onscreen brother Fox has made no comment.

The show launched his career and even earned him three consecutive Emmy Awards for his role as Alex P. Keaton.

The Family Ties play is slated to debut next June (17) at the Human Race Theater in Dayton, Ohio, the same state where the TV show was set.
