Jessica Alba spent a year planning daughter's science birthday party
Actress Jessica Alba spent a year researching and planning her eldest daughter's science-themed birthday party.
The Fantastic Four beauty is mother to Haven, five, and Honor, who turned eight in June (16), and she revels in throwing the perfect parties for her little girls.
"It's crazy, after I turned 21, celebrating my own birthday isn't quite the same," Alba admitted, "so instead I put all of my birthday energy into throwing my kids' birthday parties."
However, Jessica confesses she obsessed over Honor's most recent celebration after discovering her child wasn't interested in typical girly topics, like princesses and dressing up.
"Honor is really into science and I want to encourage her to be into science and nerdy things. I'm like, 'Yes! It's so much better than princess (things),'" she told U.S. morning show Live! With Kelly.
"So Honor, she did say, 'Mum, I'm not like one of those girls that wears pink and only wants to twirl in a dress and cares about getting married, I'm more the girl who wants to play tennis and always has my hair in my face, and I don't talk that much, and I really like to do science.' I was like, 'Cool!'
"So I literally spent a year on Pinterest (ideas-sharing app), trying to find how to put together a science birthday party for her. It was like my birthday!"
The summer is all about birthdays for Jessica as Haven was born in August, 2011, while her dad Mark turned 56 earlier this month (Sep16).
The actress, 35, shares her two children with husband Cash Warren, who she wed in 2008.
