Hundreds of Americans wash up illegally in Canada after river party

About 1,500 Americans floating down a river that separates the United States from Canada had to be rescued from the water when strong rains and winds sent them illegally into Canadian territory, the country's coast guard said on Monday. The Americans were taking part in the annual Port Huron Float Down on Sunday in the St. Clair River, which runs between the U.S. state of Michigan and the Canadian province of Ontario.

Police hunt men who dumped crocodiles in Australian school

Australian police are searching for four men who left three malnourished saltwater crocodiles in a school, after breaking in to steal computer equipment. Northern Territory Police said the men entered the Taminmin College in Humpty Doo, 40km (25 miles) south of Darwin, early on Sunday after pushing the crocodiles through a broken window.

Need drugs in jail? Try using a drone

While Amazon and the British government are looking into how to use drones to deliver parcels to customers, criminals are already exploiting the technology to send drugs to accomplices in prison. Police said on Monday they recovered two drones carrying mobile phones and drugs near London's Pentonville prison and have set up a special task force - Operation Airborne - to catch offenders trying to get contraband into the jail.
