Reports: Patriots core special teamer King signs 2-year deal
The New England Patriots are keeping core special teamer Brandon King on a two-year, $2.6 million extension, according to multiple reports Thursday.
King was set to become a restricted free agent next week. His deal also reportedly includes a $400,000 signing bonus, and he'll make base salaries of $775,000 in 2018 and $925,000 in 2019.
King, listed as a safety, played in 13 games for the Patriots last season, all in a special-teams role. He tied for second on the team with eight special-teams tackles.
Undrafted out of Auburn, King has appeared in 42 games for New England over the last three seasons.
