Aug 12 (The Sports Xchange) - The New York Yankees placed right-hander Nathan Eovaldi on the 15-day disabled list Friday with a right elbow tendon injury.
The move is retroactive to Thursday and the Yankees recalled right-hander Luis Severino from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre to take Eovaldi's spot on the roster.
Eovaldi left Wednesday's game against the Boston Red Sox after just one inning with discomfort in his elbow.

The Colorado Rockies placed first baseman Mark Reynolds on the disabled list prior to Friday's contest against the Philadelphia Phillies.
Reynolds has a broken hamate bone in his left hand. He departed Thursday's game against the Texas Rangers in the seventh inning due to the soreness. Surgery remains a possibility.

The Seattle Mariners recalled right-hander Joe Wieland from Triple-A Tacoma.
Wieland, 26, was scheduled to be the starting pitcher against the Athletics at Oakland on Friday night.
To make room on the 40-man roster, outfielder Daniel Robertson was designated for assignment.

Washington Nationals right fielder Bryce Harper was slated to miss his fourth straight game night due to neck stiffness.
Manager Dusty Baker said Friday afternoon that Harper, who hasn't played since leaving last Saturday's game against the San Francisco Giants in the seventh inning, is day-to-day.

St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Matt Holliday was scheduled to see a Chicago hand specialist on Friday after suffering a fractured thumb in the 10th inning of Thursday's 4-3 loss to the Cubs. Cleveland Indians first baseman Carlos Santana was held out of the lineup a day after getting hit in the head by a line drive while sitting in the dugout.
Santana underwent a battery of concussion tests, the early results of which were encouraging, according to Manager Terry Francona.
