Gawker Media Group is engaged in preliminary talks with the former professional wrestler Hulk Hogan to reach a settlement over a $140 million court judgment that led the company to file for bankruptcy protection, the Wall Street Journal reported on Sunday. The settlement talks come a week ahead of a court-administered auction that will see Gawker Chief Executive Nick Denton lose control of the company, the Journal said.

Renee Zellweger slams media speculation about plastic surgery

Actress Renee Zellweger criticized media outlets for discussing her appearance, and said she did not have any surgery to alter her face, in an essay published on Friday. Zellweger, 47, whose appearance has led to widespread speculation in various media outlets in the past year, said she wanted to "make some claim on the truths of my life," in a blog post entitled "We Can Do Better" on Huffington Post.

Robert De Niro to open Sarajevo Film Festival

The Sarajevo Film Festival will honor two-time Oscar-winning U.S. actor and producer Robert De Niro with a lifetime achievement award for his contribution to film on its opening night on Friday. "We are honored to have Robert De Niro as the first recipient of the Honorary Heart of Sarajevo - Lifetime Achievement Award," director Mirsad Purivatra said in a statement on Monday.

Pitanguy, Brazil's icon of plastic surgery, dead at 90

Ivo Pitanguy, a plastic surgeon whose skill with the scalpel drew celebrities to his operating table from around the world and made him a cultural icon in beauty-obsessed Brazil, died on Saturday, one day after passing the Olympic torch for the Rio Games. He was 90. Pitanguy died of a heart attack in his Rio home on Saturday, a spokeswoman said. He had been suffering from a kidney illness since last year, she said.
