A Dutch man spent 10 days at an airport in China waiting for a woman he met on the internet but ended up hospitalized after the stay took a toll on his health, local media reported. Alexander Pieter Cirk, 41, arrived at Changsha's Huanghua International Airport last month hoping to meet a 26-year-old woman surnamed Zhang. After eight days in the arrivals terminal, he told broadcaster Hunan ETV he had met her online some two months ago and would not leave until his "girlfriend" arrived.

Extreme runner wants to be reunited with Chinese stray dog
Extreme marathon runner Dion Leonard hopes to bring a stray dog which followed him for 125 kilometers (77 miles) during a race across China, back to his home in Scotland. Gobi the dog accompanied the team from the cooler side of Tian Shan range, keeping them company as they went over to the Black Gobi Desert in the Gobi March 2016 run, a 250km journey across the mountains and deserts.
