J Balvin to be honored with top Hispanic heritage award
Colombian reggaeton superstar J Balvin is to be honored with the Vision Award at the 2016 Hispanic Heritage Awards.
The Safari singer will be saluted alongside U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor, actress/singer Angelica Maria, and author Junot Diaz in Washington, D.C. next month (Sep16).
"The Hispanic Heritage Foundation is proud to honor J Balvin with the Vision Award for serving as a role model to youth while setting the music world on fire with his dynamic talents," said Hispanic Heritage Foundation president and CEO Jose Antonio Tijerino in a statement. "The evening will certainly be entertaining, meaningful and inspirational."
J Balvin is also slated to perform during the ceremony at Warner Theater.
The singer shared the news with fans on Twitter on Thursday (11Aug16), writing: "Happy to be part of this event."
