Sylvester Stallone delivering Pizza Guy comedy series
Sylvester Stallone is expanding his TV resume by reportedly developing a comedy about business owner Richie Palmer.
The Rocky star is working on Pizza Guy with gossip columnist and TV host A.J. Benza, who is writing the pilot episode.
Palmer, who owns the Mulberry Street Pizzeria in Beverly Hills, California, has been longtime friends with Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Mickey Rourke. He was also married to Raquel Welch and engaged to actress Cathy Moriarty.
"Sly called me one day and said, 'Richie's life is insane, he's sitting on a gold mine with all the stories and characters that place has'," Benza tells Page Six. "We both (have known) Richie forever, so we put our heads together and banged it out."
In addition to Pizza Guy, 70-year-old Sly is also executive producing a new The Expendables TV series, which will be based on his popular film franchise. He is also the executive producer and star of TV movie Omerta, about American mob boss Raymonde Aprile.
