Eva Mendes: 'My kids are great and I'm a calm mum'
Actress Eva Mendes hasn't got time for Hollywood because she's too busy enjoying life as a new mom.
The sexy 42-year-old, who is mom to Amada, four months, and Esmerelda, two, admits her life has never been more calm - even with a toddler and a newborn at home.
"They really are little angels," the actress, who is notoriously private when it comes to life away from film sets and red carpets, tells news show Extra. "The baby's four months and she's just the best. She sleeps. It's amazing. It really is. I'm in that mommy happy place."
Mendes has taken a noticeable step back from the Hollywood spotlight since becoming a mom, and now she's shooting down reports linking her to a big screen comeback in the next Fast and Furious blockbuster.
The Hitch star portrayed undercover agent Monica Fuentes in 2003's 2 Fast 2 Furious, and last year (15), film insiders alleged she was being pursued by film bosses to reprise her role in the eighth installment of the street racing series.
Production recently wrapped on Fast 8, and while Eva was not spotted on set, fans still hoped rumors of her involvement would ring true. However, Eva, who welcomed little Amada in April (16) while the cast and crew were shooting the film, has dismissed the gossip.
"It's not even in discussion," she told Entertainment Tonight.
As well as her duties as a mom, Mendes has been busy working on her clothing line with fashion brand New York & Company - she is currently in the Big Apple for New York Fashion Week, where she is debuting her Eva Mendes Collection.
