Shemar Moore's former pal has to pay back stolen charity money

An actor who briefly appeared on TV drama Criminal Minds has pleaded no contest to charges he stole from the show's former star Shemar Moore.

Keith Tisdell, 42, has agreed to repay Moore, 46, the sum of $61,084 after taking a plea agreement to avoid jail.

Prosecutors claimed Tisdell took the money after he befriended Moore while working with the regular on a Season 8 episode.

Tisdell was playing a character named Rodney Harrison.

"We became friends," Moore explained before the defendant was sentenced. "We went into business together."

In fact, Tisdell became involved with Baby Girl LLC, the charity Moore set up to help battle multiple sclerosis. He was arrested on suspicion of embezzlement in January (16), but ultimately admitted to grand theft.

Moore told the judge his pal's wicked ways went unnoticed for some time while he funded shared overseas vacations and gave him cash to help with his expenses. The actor finally realized something was very wrong when an audit revealed money from the organization was missing.

"I've done a lot for him because he had me, my friends fooled," Moore told the court, according to the Los Angeles Times. "I'm not here for money. I'm here because he betrayed a friendship. This is not OK. You don't do this to people."

If Tisdell fails to pay the money he will go to jail, but if he honors the judgment and stays out of legal trouble for the next three years, the conviction may be expunged from his record.
