Police hunting for bogus promoter over Tyga concert scam
Los Angeles police officials are investigating a bogus promoter who accepted a $13,500 payment for a Tyga concert which never materialized.
A student party planner for U.S. college fraternity Delta Tau Delta reached out to a man claiming to represent the rapper, and agreed to hand over the funds in February (16) in exchange for setting up the show.
However, the Rack City hitmaker was a no-show for the bash, and when the event organiser demanded a refund, the promoter disappeared, reports TMZ.com.
Cops are now trying to track down the owner of the bank account to which the money was wired in order to locate the alleged conman.
Tyga has yet to comment on the report, but he isn't the first star to find himself at the center of a concert scam - his former Young Money Entertainment label mates Drake, Nicki Minaj and Lil Wayne have all also been targetted in recent years.
