No plan to use Turkish infantry in Syria operations - defense minister

ANKARA, Sept 21 (Reuters) - Turkey has no plans to use Turkish infantry in its military operations in northern Syria targeting Islamic State and Kurdish fighters, Defence Minister Fikri Isik told reporters on Wednesday.

He said that if any operation was launched to take control of the Islamic State-held town of al-Bab, further south from the current area of operations, this would be done with forces from the Free Syrian Army. (Reporting by Ercan Gurses; Writing by Daren Butler; Editing by Alison Williams)
