Death toll in Congo riots rises to 17 - interior ministry

DAKAR, Sept 19 (Reuters) - Seventeen people were killed during clashes between police and protesters in Democratic Republic of Congo's capital of Kinshasa on Monday, Interior Ministry spokesman Claude Pero Luwara said.

He said three of them were police officers and 14 were civilians.
