Comedian Cleese honored with Rose d'Or Lifetime Achievement award
BERLIN, Sept 13 (Reuters) - "Monty Python" comedian John Cleese will be honored by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) on Tuesday when he receives the Rose d'Or Award for Lifetime Achievement at a ceremony in Berlin.
Cleese began his acting career in the 1960s and is also best known for the television series "Fawlty Towers."
The annual Rose d'Or awards recognize work in radio, television and online entertainment programs.
The award Cleese will receive honors those making "an outstanding contribution to television or radio entertainment throughout their careers."
