Two firefighters missing in Yosemite found by search teams

LOS ANGELES, Sept 13 (Reuters) - Two off-duty Southern California firefighters who failed to return earlier this week from a six-day hike in Yosemite National Park were found safe on Tuesday by search teams, a park spokesman said.

Javier Avelar and Dave Brown were found in good condition near the Hetch Hetchy reservoir in the park's remote northwest corner, Yosemite spokesman Scott Gediman said.

Gediman said the two men, who had gotten lost and separated during their hike, were spotted by search teams who began looking for them after family members and co-workers told authorities on Sunday they had not returned as planned from a six-day hike.
