Syria ceasefire seems to hold despite 'sporadic' violence -U.S.
WASHINGTON, Sept 13 (Reuters) - The Syrian cessation of hostilities that went into effect on Monday appears to be holding despite some reports of continued violence, the U.S. State Department said on Tuesday.
"We have seen ... some reports of sporadic violence but thus far the arrangement as a whole seems to be holding and the violence ... is lower in comparison to previous days and weeks," State Department spokesman Mark Toner told a briefing. (Reporting by Arshad Mohammed; Editing by James Dalgleish)
