Russia says Lavrov, Kerry to meet in Geneva early on Sept. 9
MOSCOW, Sept 8 (Reuters) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will meet with U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry in Geneva on Friday morning, the Russian Foreign Ministry said on Thursday.
"The meeting will be tomorrow morning. We cannot say the exact time," a ministry official said.
Shortly after Lavrov arrived in Geneva for talks with U.N. Special Envoy Staffan de Mistura, the U.S. State Department said it did not believe it was worthwhile for Kerry to meet with his Russian counterpart. (Reporting by Jack Stubbs; Editing by Louise Ireland)
