Uzbek president's daughter thanks well-wishers for support for ill father
MOSCOW, Aug 31 (Reuters) - The younger daughter of Uzbek President Islam Karimov on Wednesday thanked well-wishers for their support for her father, who suffered a brain hemorrhage on Saturday, saying this was helping his recovery.
The Instagram message from Lola Karimova-Tillyaeva came after speculation in some media that Karimov, at the helm of Central Asia's most populous country since 1989, had died after the brain hemorrhage. (Reporting by Alexander Winning; Writing by Dmitry Solovyov)
