Brokenhearted Wife
My first thoughts were that someone in our family had suffered a tragedy when I came home from work and found my wife sitting on the couch, sobbing uncontrollably. She was near hysterical, but I was able to at least discern that everyone in our family was fine and that the problem was something or someone at the office where she worked. My wife, Sarah, and I are in our mid-forties, have been married for twenty-two years, and have two grown sons. I had never seen her so emotional or distraught. I tried to talk to her, ask her what was going on, but she just pushed me aside and locked herself in our bedroom. I pleaded with her through the locked door to tell me what was causing her such anguish, and she kept telling me I wouldn't understand and that I couldn't help her. I finally persuaded her to come out and talk, and I was in no way prepared for what she was about to confess. Now, to put her confession in perspective, Sarah is forty-four years old, forty pounds overweight, and amazingly conservative in every aspect of her life from the clothes she wears to our love life. So imagine my shock and disbelief when she tells me the reason she was so upset was that her lover/boyfriend for the past ten months left her for another woman. I wanted to get up and walk out, but I just sat there listening spellbound to the details of her torrid love affair. Her lover was a twenty-eight year old kid that she met at work. She said that he began flirting with her, telling her how attractive she was, and he was persistent in asking her out. She said she told him she was happily married, but he wouldn't take no for an answer and he finally wore her down and she agreed to meet him for dinner. She had sex with him that night in the backseat of our SUV. I found myself asking for more details as her confession continued. She detailed their daily sexual encounters, often having finished having sex right before coming home and making dinner. I couldn't believe this was my wife speaking. As she was telling me about one wild encounter, I reached over and began to unbutton her blouse. She didn't stop talking as I began to touch her. She admitted to being in love with him, and that she was brokenhearted when he told her they were through. I was so turned on that I took her right there on the living room floor. I had never seen her so excited! I am not sure where we go from here.
