My kisses being stars, too many now to count
I've sent them by a messenger,
through glittering comet trails and solar sighs.
I've waded through the deepest pools
of tears and undreamt dreams
in hopes I'd find you waiting
for delivery of my embrace.
Perhaps you are too good for my love,
the dotings of this childish girl
who admires you from so far,
and feels your heart swell and shrink
with every launch and mooring.
Would it be too much to ask that you
raise your sail and catch this misplaced breeze
as though it were my final breath?
Feel this wind caress you and transport
your spirit on currents never waning,
and my love, remember, I'll forever hold you
near the surface, close to my face and my tender whispers
