When You Finally Leave Me
When you finally leave me, my only heart,
There may not be a goodbye.
When you leave me, I wonder
Why now I think of this?
Death has many times passed me by
Taken others, reminding me that nothing is permanent.
And I have wanted to forget you
Wanted you to let me go.
Before that fateful day...
One day you will, without wanting to,
Taking my immortal heart away
And I will wonder where you are,
Look for you in the secret letters of our souls
And wait for the day you will return
Before I realize...
Yes, you finally let me go
You, who knew me well,
Only you knew me true
Then you would have finally left me
To weep for you.
