Let Me Breathe

Why do I do this?
Why do I love you
seeping into days
lengthening nights?
There's questions I have to ask
but am afraid to know the answer to.
How can I say
when my mouth dies
at the sight of you.
My mind melts every time
you enter a room
my tongue sticks
and I can only stare
and love.
Why must I die
at the things you say
I long to touch
you hair
to be lost in
your warmth
forever.
But, how
can I, a shy,
scared child
ask you to love me
to be with me
to change my life?
Why must
I play
these cruel games
with myself...
gasping when you talk
your beauty leaving
me without a breath.
Please,
let me breathe.
