Who would steal an election
Through unnatural selection
In an attempt that was rotten to the core

He whined and he pleaded
And, once, he conceded
But then he thought "Hope..."
And turned into a dope
And forgot what this country needed

So now we all suffer
With political seas rougher
In a climate of fear
With no hero too near
To act as a mediative buffer

And now we all wait
As the arrows of fate
Fly askew and asunder
In this drama of blunders
As we ponder our National State...
