On Missing You
Sometimes I'm driving in my car, alone.
I hear a song that reminds me of you.
Sometimes I pretend you are in the passenger's seat.
We joke around,
Talk about everything.
We pass the time
Like we used to.
Sometimes I'm laughing at the things we used to do.
People ask, "Why are you smiling?"
"What are you thinking?"
I have to make something up.
I can't let them know I'm thinking of you.
I want to catch up on everything
That happened to me since we've been apart.
But it's just too many things.
So much is happening in my life right now.
It's exciting to me.
I wish I could share it all with you.
It doesn't feel the same sharing my excitement
With anyone else.
So much to share
So much to tell
But you're not here.
And I miss you.
