Stop
by freecarra
stop where you are.
we need to start
all over-
from the beginning.
something
about the dialogue
is falling wrong in the air;
something in the language
is off.
was it your tone of voice
or was it
the words themselves?
see,
the point of the conversation
was to achieve some give and take,
but it wasn't supposed to be
this way.
you aren't supposed to be giving
me pain
and taking pleasure in it;
you're supposed to give truth
and take responsibility
while i give forgiveness
and take you back.
somewhere in the midst
of our word play,
everything you owned
became my fault.
and I became the guilty one,
the wrong one,
instead of the one who was wronged.
stop where you are.
we need to start over-
from the beginning-
and just walk away.
