Poetry: Bitter Poetry
A Single Red Petal
by Lexi Cate

A Single Red Petal A yellow rose
A setting sun A girl in the corner
Holding the gun Writing a message
To whom it may concern On the wall in pen
"When will you learn?" Life is too hard
Too hard to keep a deal Too short to live
To cheap to steel The boy on the other side
He broke her heart He crushed her like ice
And split her apart But it doesn't matter now
He wont hurt her again His tears are silent
And clear as the pen "He hurt me so"
"He'll do it more" "He used me once"
"Then called me a whore" "He was cruel"
And now he has paid For the one perfect time
And one perfect day In his heart
A bullet of metal A puddle of blood
A Single Red Petal
