Poetry: Bitter Poetry
A notice to authority
by Stephanie Sillers

Should I be upset?
The cold fury of my veins slices through the night with only my tears and whispers as witnesses.
Should I be angry?
That the eternal lifelessness residing in my concealed identity, in my not-so-malice heart, has been caressed by the not-so-oblivious reaper.
Do I feel inspired?
By the ruthless authority, who's abused "power" has caused a chain of unforseen, meaningless yet horrific, breaks in a soul who seeks the divinity of someone better than the next cynical dictator.
Do I want more?
More than this monotonous memoir of moments lived but life forever missed in the pain of other's mistakes.
Do I believe?
Yes, I believe in the will and drive of the human being whose compassion and service to those whose living space is believed to be a wasted attempt of creation, surpasses the standard of ignorance and conceit
Authority
It is my humble and ill respected belief that a world abundant of adolescents entirely dedicated to a single cause, whether it be united or otherwise, can change the meaning of authority; for it will no longer mean those who were appointed but rather those who stood for a cause worth respect
