Poetry: Bitter Poetry
I Walk Alone
by Victor

I saw a child on the street who had no food to eat
I saw a women who had no shoes upon her feet
I saw a family asleep as I walked in the park
And a tear fell as I saw a soldier covered in a faded tarp

I remember my father talk of how he went to fight
How the death of comrads and freinds took place
How fighting for freedon for others was just right
And the tears from mothers were sean on their face

I remember my father speak of people together be
when wars would rage and food was hard to find
from the east to the west and from sea to sea
lending a neighbor or a stranger a peace of mind

Now I walk along these streets next to the park
I see the disabled, crippled child and fighting Vet
Each day they die alone and in the dark
Some from age, starvation, but most sickness let

I read the paper of budgets cuts and what their for
the disabled and veterans are left without releive
How the rich get richer off the iraq war
putting a strain on america's believe

That the land of the free and home of the brave
will lead us from this torment hell our fathers fight
and into that our depressed and Vets to be it save
then help those that died to make it right
