Poetry: Bitter Poetry
Unborn Love Of Dead Soul
by Cliff Lawrence

stupid words come from in me,
mouth opens and i become a fool,
then wonder why no on understands.

living in dream world to long,
mind says love can be real,
heart reaches out only to fail.

living on a prayer unanswered,
maybe praying doesn't work,
without faith to back it up.

lonely child in adult body,
never seeing anything but cruelty,
remains hidden behind locked doors.

to many feelings brought to light,
words on paper of broken promises,
shame and defeat written in stone.

within deep realm of troubled mind,
struggling to reach out to life,
only being shunned into submission.

living on a prayer of dreams,
dying unanswered without knowing,
if true love ever existed in reality.

waking to emptiness of loneliness,
being stupid is repeated over again,
snickers and stares felt deep inside.

hiding here writing of another defeat,
left behind even before game started,
living on a prayer dies slowly.

fading into realm of none existence,
lonely child in adult body crying,
hell's grip holding back the prayer.

doomed to be born without love,
sweet taste of victory never born,
without faith prayer was foolish.

living on a prayer from defeat,
unborn love of dead soul wanders,
as words written never sees reality.
