Poetry: Bitter Poetry
Megan
by Kailin Rockhill

Years, months, weeks, and days will go by
Centuries will fade, darling, but my love will not
You to me is like water to the ocean
Without it, we are empty, incomplete
One look into your big brown eyes, I lose myself
I lose all thoughts, all words, all breath
You lean into my ear and whisper you love me
My knees go weak and bend without command
You brush your lips up against mine, I scream inside
Sometimes its so loud I swear the angels can hear it
You make my soul smile like a child on Christmas morning
Singing and joyful like carolers outside of my window
I take in your scent, it warms my heart
Never leave me, for you are my world, my everything
You light up my life
