Poetry: Bitter Poetry
Across the room
by Alison

I didn't realize that I loved you,
until last night,
when I looked up,
and saw U in the light.

Your face,
so fine and sharp,
your eyes are piercing and warm,
Your hair is as fine as the strings on a harp.

Your hands are large,
and brown from work,
calloused on your finger tips,
I dropped my purse from Dooney & Burke.

So here I am writing to you,
Just because I happen to assume,
that we're soul mates,
because I saw you ACROSS THE ROOM.
