I had a friend
She wasn't the prettiest
But man was she smart
She wasn't the finest
But she had big heart
She had low self esteem
And never knew the meaning of things
She was in love with this boy
She thought he felt the same
But in reality he didn't
She had some real feelings for this guy
Some feelings that went deep
But her feelings were the problem
He treated her like dirt
And she would be so hurt
She would come back to me
And crying is how she'd be
She would always worry me
And then she did something terrible
She let him beat
In the school auditorium
Is where they did meet
She laid on the stage
And their they laid
I still can't believe what she told me that day
I wanted to cry
But I let the tears pass by
And then came another secret
Worst than the first
It was devastating
It was so aggravating
I couldn't do anything
She was pregnant
What could I do
I couldn't walk in her shoes
She said she's having an abortion
And that just blew it out of proportion
But what else could she do
Her parents abused her
But this could leave scars
No this would leave scars
My friend has to suffer
But don't you
Make that same mistake
Or like my friend your heart will brake
