Eulogy
by Joshua Moore
How can you be so far away,
Yet before me lie this way?
A snow soft touch and time sealed eyes,
Trace your soul above the skies.
A few kind words and a dew of tears,
Awaken all of your years.
Yet the showers of petals and tears I've cried,
Whisper 'you sleep beneath my stride'.
In this world you've left behind,
Small parts of you I'll always find.
And when my breath breathes icy white,
I'll know you're just beyond my sight.
In one place you're still alive,
And there with sleep I will arrive.
Your star filled eyes and sunshine smile,
Make all this worth its while.
And so it seems,
That you soar across my dreams.
Forever,
And always.
