Poetry: Bitter Poetry
Spiral of Life
by Mike McClendon

Through Hell, day after day-
Walking one path, eternally, one way.
Nowhere to go, just round and round,
Time flying away, making no ground.
Eyes wide open, retina's are burned,
Unflickering light, life not learned.

Line afterline, bowl after bowl,
Wasting my life, darkness devouring my soul.
Light's scorching eyes, hiding from the sun,
As my eyes beg to bleed, my nose wildly run.
Still choices to make, always a smarter way.
Embracing same old shit, heart poisoned each day.

Hopeless you always feel-
Painfully useless it seems,
Everytime, stand back up-
Fearlessly, pursue you dreams!
