Poetry: Bitter Poetry
Tears are like tearing
by Elizabeth M

I just tore up everything we've ever written to eachother in each of our notebooks. Every page.

Tears are like tearing.
I tear away the past.
The tears roll down my cheek.
Nothing lasts forever.

If there were as many "I'm sorry"s as pieces in this box,
it wouldn't be enough for either of us.
Sorry means nothing anymore.
They couldn't take away the painful tears or put us back together.

So throw them away or keep them.
It doesn't matter now.
The memories are still carved in our minds.
Tears nor tears can take them away.
