Poetry: Bitter Poetry
Life
by Curtis

I wake up in the middle of the night
Scared to death I turn on the light
Lying here in bed
Questions race through my head
What is Life?
You never worry till something goes wrong
Then you realize life isnt very long
We're not immortal, We're all gonna die
Leaving everyone here to cry
Life comes to an end so fast
All that is left are memories of the past
Everyone asks for just one more glance
Knowing we'll never again have the chance
I find myself asking why,
Why do we have to die?
I question whether life is even real
It's a bad perspective but it's how I feel
Now it's time to be buried in the dirt
I look around and see everyone so hurt
You never knew how much you really cared
Wishing then their life would be spared
Dealing with death makes me stronger
Helps me realize life may not last much longer
Now I see we take things for granted
It's not as bad as it may seem
So I'm gonna live it up
Each night I'l pray for the best
Before I take my eternal rest
