Poetry: Bitter Poetry
Ramblings of a half awake mind
by Another Facade

Hope is a candle
Fading and waxing
Lighting the way

The world
Cloaked in shadow
Yet a candle can light the way

Groping in confusion
Into worlds of hate
And apathy

World unforgiving
Light is not found
I cannot see

I strive to find the light
Woven into fate and destiny
But I know there is candle

For my heart can see

As some are slain
Kin lay dead
Hope reverberates in my head
A tempest a flame
Yet still stands
How can it endure the folly of man?

In the eyes of a child
In the heart of the abhorred
Inspiration swings open its door

Folly of war can, we not see
It leads us to one destiny
Brother and brother
Blood is shed
Why must look upon the leagues of dead?

He cries for the world
The slain, the arrogant,
The lost, the discarded

My heart lay open
Let what I see flow
Evil surrounds me
The day shall come when we see past the façade
Past all the wars fought for G-d
We shall see what is true
The blood we shed
Defiling the name

A sea of sadness rushes to fill me
But I realize

The last tear shall fall
A crimson dawn
A ray of hope
The Good of the world will Glow brighter
once again
