Poetry: Bitter Poetry
How...
by Taryn Waldron

How can life carry on,
Like his existence meant nothing
The world should stop revolving
The world should grieve
Just for a day....
Just to give me a chance
to see what it's really like without him

How come music doesn't sound the way it should
and his sweet peas have never smelt so bitter
Why does the water no longer wash the pain away

Why is it me left in the middle of this hole
So alone, so needing what I can't describe
Realising that this, my new normal,
is where sorrow will now dwell,
where regret has found a home,

This normal , is the life without my father
