Poetry: Bitter Poetry
Ice Princess
by Alyssa McKnight

Her snow covered cheek
Feeling scalding hot in the ice cold
The tears falling from her eyes
Freezing against her rosy cheeks
Now her heart is frosted with ice
Just like the trees she sees blurred through tears
Her soul is frozen
She is totally unfeeling
But still the hot tears fall
She tries to block all emotions
But the flood of tears don't stop
They never stop
Something deep inside her is dying
The tears never stop falling
She is suffering
Suffering the pain of living
She came out in the snow for one reason
The reason is to stop the suffering
With the hot tears falling down her cheeks
And freezing as they fall
She shakily brings her hand up
Her hand is holding a knife
She brings it to her chest
And stabs the knife through her heart of ice
She falls back against the cold snow
The life drains from her body
Her frail lifeless body
In the snow, the red snow
