Poetry: Bitter Poetry
The Need
by Julian Toth

As the cool grass settles from restless motion and an ageless oak sees the death of another day, I am filled with thoughts of you.
You are here; this moment; in my feelings; the birds echo your voice; the passion in which you live, exists in the crisp mountain breeze.
I yearn to share the moment with you; to show you the milky sun drip upon the timeless horizon, to whisper dreams not yet seen, to cradle the joy of our union, to laugh the fears of life away in your presence; for you are the reason for existence; the source of my life radiates from your very core, and it is difficult to bear the thought of your absence; and no death is worse than seeing the birth of a new day without your hand at my side.
Be not the shadow upon the wall that eludes my every embrace, be the fact that does not waiver.
Be not the illusion of every painting, but the sickle moon that grows forever.
Be with me.
