Poetry: Bitter Poetry
the Cruise
by Eddie Guerrero, Jr.

5'11, blonde hair, blue eyes.
She is my sun, my moom, my earth.
I wait impatiently for her call,
Anxious for her to come home to see me.
I wonder,
What would my life be like without her?

I think back to when we first met.
I had never seen her before,
But we alwys talked for hours on end.
I would go to school the next day,
Hanging by a string from her last three words.

My memories fade away as she walks in the door.
Her very presence seems to illuminate the room,
As it does my very mind.
I have waited for this day for many, many years.
Almost too many to count, if it had not been for my age,
As time stands still, my honeymoon is perfect.

As she stands in front of me,
I am axious and excited.
I feel a feeling I have never felt before...

The slow, Steady rocking of the boat
