in my head
by Cindee Newman
I once had a dream of a rainstorm
thunder rolling and blinding lights
Heat filled my soul, as I listened to each drop
I thought of a man, an old love ..
A love I once knew
knew very well
Consumed by his heart
his body
his soul
Another day without him was something I dare not bare.
His body was there
His heart was not
For he was with another...
Another tie
A forever bond
Forever was something I was not..
The rainstorm was gone
The thoughts stayed
Where was he when the rain stopped
Where will he be when the rain starts again...
I will remain here..
Here in my head..
