Hitch Hiker
by spring
I picked him up on the West Coast:
We stopped at a Diner, chatted over coffee and toast.......
He had big blue eyes and long blonde hair:
I knew where ever I was going, I wanted to take him there.....
He said he grew up in a small town back East; Told me of his family, but honestly i could care in the least.....
All I could think of was the warmth of his skin:
How much I wanted to feel him within.....
He brought me out of my daze with a touch of his hand:
I sat paralyzed as I watched his figure begin to stand.....
He looked at me with eyes that said, "are you ready to go".
Then flashed his baby face smile; How could I possibly say no?....
We got in my truck and drove for awhile; I looked over at him and he flashed me that smile.....
My knees went weak and turned into butter:
I tried to talk sweet but there was only my stutter...
I stepped on my tongue I don't know how many times:
I could spit nothing out; I couldn't remember even the best of my lines.....
Something within mye had started to ache, so I pulled my truck over, we were next to a lake:
I got out and stretched, then breathed in deep; He asked what was wrong, I said nothing, I just needed some sleep....
So I blew up the air mattress and threw it in back:
I then realized I didn't even know his name:
He said it was Mack..........
